Whether you’re closed in observation of a holiday or closed due to inclement weather, keeping your customers aware and in the loop of any changes or alerts is imperative. Use your company’s main greeting to to communicate with your customers more efficiently and effectively.

See below, instructions on how to change your ESI phone system’s main greeting.

Changing your company’s main greeting from a remote location:

  • Call your main telephone number and wait for the automated attendant to answer.
  • Dial **456#
  • The system prompts you to change the answer mode. Then press 1
  • Select the option for night mode 2 (Option 6).

*If you do not already have a recording for night mode 2, please follow the next set of directions.

Recording a Custom Recording from Outside of the Office:

  • Call your main telephone number and wait for the automated attendant to answer.
  • Dial **456#
  • The system prompts you to record night mode 2 (Option #6).
  • Select the option for night mode 2 and the system will play back the current recording, or if you do not have a current recording, press # and hang up.
  • Call back into the main business telephone number to ensure that the inclement weather recording is now in place.

Retrieving Messages from Outside of the Office:

Now that your telephone system is in night mode 2, callers will probably be leaving messages in the general mailbox. Follow these directions in order to retrieve messages left in the general mailbox.

  • Call your main business telephone number and wait for the automated attendant to answer.
  • Dial *300 followed by your password.
  • The system will then begin playing back messages that were left.
