Keeping Cool is a Hot Topic in IT Spaces

People often overlook temperature control for their IT equipment and only implement a solution after heat-related performance problems or failures occur.

You must carefully consider small, confined spaces where your IT equipment and UPS systems are deployed. High temperatures have a huge impact on the lifespan of IT equipment and more so on that of battery backup units.  Did you know that a UPS battery running at 104°F is likely to last only 1 to 1.5 years?  That is less than half of the expected lifespan of 3-5 years.

The problem that most companies face is they think of cooling more in terms of cold air supply than of hot air removal.  Not every company needs a dedicated air conditioning unit for their IT closet; there are better ways to stay cool rather than keeping the door to your noisy server room wide open.

Liberty Technology Solutions offers an array of IT services along with its team of readily available IT professionals to ensure you are getting the most out of your technology.

Liberty Technology Solutions Launches Partnership with Star2Star Communication

Company Named the Philadelphia Region’s Authorized Dealer of the World’s Most Reliable Business Grade Phone System

MOORESTOWN, NJ — May 20, 2011 — Liberty Technology Solutions, a regional leader in business communications, announced today that the company has officially been named the Philadelphia region’s Authorized Dealer for Sarasota, FL based Star2Star Communications.

Star2Star, who brands itself as The World’s Most Reliable Business Grade Phone System, is at the forefront of the IP telephony revolution. Star2Star provides a business-class, reliable Internet (or Voice Over IP) phone solution through a unique end-to-end architecture in which Star2Star monitors and manages all aspects of the desktop phones, voice prioritization, call routing, disaster recovery, network and call quality.

Liberty, who was courted by Star2Star when they were in the process of looking for a reliable Hosted-IP Telephone product to offer, was more than impressed with the Star2Star product. Liberty’s President & CEO, Gerry Gordon, had this to say of the Star2Star partnership, “We were product testing several Hosted-IP products, and were having trouble settling on an offering as many Hosted products on the market are unreliable at best, but then we found Star2Star.” Gordon continued, “Star2Star is, and this sounds kind of crazy, a Premise Based Hosted-IP Telephone System, meaning it is not just a more reliable alternative to hosted phone systems, but a real game changer for Liberty and is opening the door on many
new business opportunities.”

Being the world’s first Premise Based Hosted-IP Telephone System, Star2Star is a game changer indeed. Because the telephony is Internet-based and the call routing features are available as part of the service, the capital investment is typically reduced for most organizations. Rather than over-subscribing phone lines at each business location to ensure availability, the service creates a “pool” of virtual lines which can reduce the total quantity of lines required in a multi-site network. The “bursting” capability of the Star2Star virtual lines also prevents busy signals.

The “pooling” and “bursting” of lines are just two of the many benefits of the Star2Star product, Liberty’s Sales Manager, Chad Muckenfuss elaborates, “The product is just so flexible and powerful, and the savings are incredible for even the average customer.” Muckenfuss went on to explain the solutions flexibility for multi-site locations, “[And] customers who have more than one site really see the savings as they are not required to house countless telephone lines at each location, but sharing telephone lines between all their locations, I have customers who have saved thousands of dollars a month on this feature alone.”

Cost savings and reliability are certainly keystones of the Liberty’s Star2Star offering, but day-today calling and functionality is also handled flawlessly. In response to end-user functionality Gerry Gordon had this to say, “Customers who have worked with traditional PBX type systems for many years often loose some of that comfort and ease-of-use when migrating to an IP system, but such is not the case with Star2Star.” Continuing Gordon added “The desktop phones are great, with Star2Star we offer both Cisco and Polycom phones, and Star2Star’s StarScope computer desktop software enhances user functionality with the simple click of a mouse.”

Functionality, ease-of-use, cost savings, Cisco phones; Star2Star seems to have it all, and Liberty Technology Solutions is excited to bring the product to the Philadelphia market. Liberty Sales Manager, Chad Muckenfuss, concluded, “It’s such a unique product and with Liberty being named the Philadelphia region’s first area dealer it is extremely exciting to bring this product to market, showing customers and potential customers alike that your run-of-the-mill hosted system is not the answer if your looking for true cost savings, reliability, and functionality.”

Company Partner’s with the Nation’s Largest Cable TV & Internet Provider

MOORESTOWN, NJ — March 10, 2011 — Liberty Technology Solutions, a regional leader in business communications, officially announced today a partnership with Comcast / Xfinity.

Liberty Technology Solutions has a long standing reputation as one of the Philadelphia region’s leading business telecommunications providers having current product offerings that range from Telephone Systems, IT services, and connectivity from all of the major dial tone and internet carriers.

Comcast, who has built their reputation as the country’s largest residential cable TV and internet provider, has been making great strides providing voice and data services designed specifically for the business sector. It was Comcast’s rapid growth in the business sector that had Liberty take notice and seek a partnership. Comcast responded by appointing Liberty Technology Solutions as an authorized reseller certified to sell the entire Comcast / Xfinity product catalog.

The Comcast catalog is armed with a great product line, unparalleled data speeds, and extremely competitive rates. The Comcast partnership allows Liberty Technology Solutions to offer their customers one of the hottest connectivity products currently on the market. Liberty’s Sales Manager, Chad Muckenfuss, elaborated, “So many companies are looking at trimming their monthly costs, signing up with Comcast is a great way to enhance your services while saving money.”

Saving money is only one of the many benefits of the partnership between Liberty and Comcast. The changes in Telephone and Internet technology was another key factor for the partnership, Gerry Gordon, Liberty’s President & CEO, explains “There are so many new telephone and IT products that we are offering, and Comcast allows us to offer these products with quality, inexpensive connectivity.” Gordon went on to say, “VoIP is really where we see the partnership having the most success. With a Comcast/VoIP combo we allow our customers to cut ties with their local/long distance carrier, we bring in a lightning fast internet connection, and run their phones and computers over that connection for a fraction of what they are used to spending, it has really been a success.”

Success is the really the keystone of the Comcast / Liberty partnership. The immediate response from Liberty’s customer base has been outstanding, Chad Muckenfuss added, “Our customers have loved the fact that we now offer Comcast. Not only are they saving money and taking advantage of new products that we offer, the partnership also allows us to remain their point of contact for all of their technology needs, whether it be phones, computers, or their Comcast connectivity.”

Liberty Communications and Comp-U-Tech Merge to form Liberty Technology Solution

Companies join forces to form All-In-One Business Technology Services Firm

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Nov. 17, 2010 — Liberty Communications, a regional leader in business communications, officially announced today their merger with Mount Laurel, NJ’s Comp-U-Tech.

The merger, which has been in the works for several months, was finalized today with the companies re-branding themselves as Liberty Technology Solutions. The result of the merger is the formation of an all-in-one business communications firm whose product and service scope is virtually
unrivaled in the Delaware Valley.

For the past 15 years Liberty Communications has been a staple of the Philadelphia region’s Telecommunications scene making a name for them-selves by offering business telephone systems and connectivity services. These services, however, only allowed Liberty to handle a portion of their customer’s needs. Liberty’s President & CEO, Gerry Gordon elaborated, “Liberty has an excellent family of customers and we do a great job of handling their telephones and connectivity, but recently the lines between Business Telephones and IT services has blurred and the demand for us to offer IT and Data Services has dramatically increased.”

Enter Comp-U-Tech.

Comp-U-Tech brings 10 years of boutique-style computer and IT services. Paired with excellent talent and a loyal customer base Comp-U-Tech has become synonymous with quality business IT services in the Delaware Valley. Comp-U-Tech’s Owner, Brian Minker explains, “When I started Comp-U-Tech my goal was to offer quality, honest IT services and build a loyal family of customers, and I can honestly say that I accomplished my goal beyond my wildest expectations.” He added, “As I built my customer base I, like (Liberty Communication’s) Gerry (Gordon) could only service a portion of my customer’s needs, so I began to work closely with Liberty for our telephone needs.”

The relationship between Liberty and Comp-U-Tech quickly grew and it soon became obvious that the two companies should join forces. Liberty’s Gerry Gordon explained, “Comp-U-Tech and Liberty began sharing a wealth of customers and we were working together on just about every project. To me it seemed like the perfect marriage, so when I approached (Comp-U-Tech’s) Brian (Minker) about merging he jumped right on board.”

Now, after several months of working on an agreement, the two companies have joined their resources to form one of the Delaware Valley’s premiere Business Communications companies, offering a vast product and services line that includes: Telephone Systems, IT/Data Support, Managed Services (Help Desk, Spam Filtering, Virus Protection, Off-Site Data Back-up, ect.), Connectivity Services (Phone and Internet), Presence Management, Cabling, and Network Infrastructure Design.

When asked about the significance of the merger Gerry Gordon had this to say, “Merging a business telephone company and an IT company puts us and our family of customers in a great position. We are now your business’s essential one-stop-shop for all things communications, if you need help with your phones, computers, internet, security; you name it, we’ve got you covered.”

It is this all-in-one services model that has Liberty Technology Solutions poised for a bright future, former Comp-U-Tech Owner, and Liberty’s Chief Technology Officer, Brian Minker explains, “The combining of our resources makes us a unique entity in this region, and the level of talent under one roof is, in my mind, second-to-none. I am extremely excited about the future of Liberty Technology Solutions.”
